Summer shows and a little bit of Annie Lennox

TBT: Live at St. Matthew’s Church, 2012 with Clogs and My Brightest Diamond

This summer I’ve been back and forth all across the country. In between accidentally establishing a recreational soccer league in Vancouver, playing with a chamber ensemble in a cemetery and watching every single World Cup game I could get my eyes on I’ve been putting the finishing touches to the new album! More on that in the coming months – for this instalment I’ve got news on shows in the next weeks in Quebec City and Montreal, and a headlining slot at the end of next month at the Halifax Urban Folk Festival, as well as a little video shot in the Netherlands when I was on tour there this spring.  Read on…

There are a handful of shows coming up over the next month in Eastern Canada – next Tuesday I’m heading up to Quebec City for the first time in years to join the fantasticReuben and the Dark at l’Anti. Next Sunday I’ll be playing a very intimate rooftop show in Montreal (message to reserve your spot and get the address), and at the end of August I’ll be stopping back through my old stomping grounds of Halifax to perform with a 6-piece orchestral ensemble! The last Halifax orchestral show sold out very quickly – so don’t sleep on it! tickets here This final show is gonna be really special as Halifax’s former poet laureate, and my former housemate and present good friend Tanya Davis will be opening the night!

New video from the Netherlands of “Why”

Touring around Europe this spring I got into the habit of playing an old Annie Lennox song. Stopping through Utrecht in the Netherlands I caught up with the folks at Here on Out and shot a little live video – Watch it here
