Edmundston – my apologies (and a rant about Acadian Lines)

Edmundston – I’m really sorry and frustrated to say that after a couple of weeks of trying to find alternative transportation I’m going to have to cancel the Paper Beat Scissors show at Cafe Lotus Bleu tonight. I think it’s an absolute disgrace that Acadian Lines has failed to resolve this conflict by now, and also really disapointing that the New Brunswick government has failed to step in and sort this situation out. Although just a one-off frustration for me, the lack of transportation in the province is making everyday life in NB incredibly difficult and more expensive for a lot of people. I think it’s about time the government passed on the contract to a different company or took the service over itself. Public control of a public service would be pretty nice.

    Hello,

We were very sorry to hear about your cancelled show on Thursday. The situation with Acadian Line is definitely not the best for our region.

If the strike persists and you need to get to Edmundston again, there is a company called Taxi Cormier, from the Acadian Peninsula that offers transportation services in a minivan. They could probably accomodate you. Just thought I’d let you know because this service has worked for a few other persons that were trying to get here.

Hope this helps and hope to still see you soon in Edmundston.

Thank so much for the advice! I wish I’d known beforehand. I honestly thought that when this tour was being booked in December that there was no way that the buses would still be off the roads by the time the tour came along. I will be back in Edmundston as soon as possible!

      Take care

      Tim

    No problem!

Yes unfortunately no one ever thought it would last this long.

If Taxi Cormier doesn’t work out for you next time don’t hesitate to give me a call so we can try to figure out something. 506 7376928 is my direct line and we have a toll free number 186673767656.

    Cheers

    Mylène

  3. While everyone else is frustrated about the inconvenience that Acadian Lines has caused, Taxi Cormier are actually celebrating since they are getting a huge number of passengers traveling to Edmundston. If the strike at Acadian Lines continues to persist, this Taxi Cormier will make quite a lot of money.
