I’m slowly learning how to operate in Montreal’s sub-tropical summer (read: never opening the curtains during the day and only venturing outside at night). When my energy levels get high enough I’m getting busy – the new album is coming along beautifully through brief musical explosions (followed by periods of complete confusion). Next week I’ll be trying out some of those brand new songs with the band in Montreal. Rewinding a little, the UK blog the Line of Best Fit just included an old unreleased instrumental track of mine on their new compilation (scroll down for more…)
Montreal Show this Tuesday July 12th at PDB le Ritz
This coming Tuesday we’ll be headlining the opening night of the KickDrum Festival at PDB le Ritz in Montreal. I’ll be reunited with the European tour band of Tessa Kautzman, Michael Feuerstack, Alex Thibault and Greg Burton, and we’re gonna preview 2 new songs from the upcoming new album – if you want to be the first to hear them, tickets and facebook link are here:
UK site ‘the Line of Best Fit’ premieres new-old song
Every once in a while the UK music site the Line of Best Fit puts together a compilation of the best new Canadian music. They recently got in touch to ask if I could give them something special, so I dug out an old unreleased track from my eponymous electronic/instrumental side project. You can read a little more and download the whole compilation (including my contribution ‘Bluish’) here.
September in the Atlantic (provinces)
Having been a Maritimer for 11 years, I know from personal experience that September is the best time to go swimming in the ocean. As such I’ll be heading out east in a couple of months for a handful of shows stretching from Newfoundland to New Brunswick, playing with a favourite duo of mine from LA. I’ll be including the full dates and information in the next mailout, but if you want to read the news first, keep an eye on the Facebook page, twitter or website next week!
